Types of LED explosion-proof lights

LED lights, due to their energy efficiency and environmental friendliness, and aesthetically pleasing light source, are gradually replacing traditional lighting fixtures. Therefore, they are widely loved and used by the public, and traditional explosion-proof light sources are gradually being replaced, giving rise to LED Explosion-proof lights LED explosion-proof lights are a type of explosion-proof light. Their principle is the same as that of traditional explosion-proof lights, except that the light source is an LED light source. They are lighting fixtures with specific safety measures. LED explosion-proof lights are currently very energy-efficient explosion-proof lights, widely used in oil fields, power plants, chemical plants, petroleum industries, and military facilities.

  Classification of LED Explosion-proof Lights:

  1. National standards specify the explosion-proof categories, grades, and temperature classes of LED explosion-proof lights.

  2. According to explosion-proof type, they are divided into five main types: flameproof, increased safety, pressurized, spark-proof, and dust explosion-proof. They can also be composed of other explosion-proof types and the above various explosion-proof types.

  3. According to the type of electric shock protection, they can be divided into Class Ⅰ, Ⅱ, and Ⅲ. Electric shock protection is to prevent the live parts of explosion-proof luminaires from causing electric shock to the human body or generating electric sparks from contact with conductors of different potentials, igniting explosive mixtures.

Class Ⅰ - In addition to basic insulation, accessible conductive parts that are not energized during normal operation are connected to the protective grounding conductor in the fixed wiring.

Class Ⅱ - Double insulation or reinforced insulation as a safety protection measure, without grounding protection.

Class Ⅲ - Using a safety voltage with an effective value not exceeding 50V, which will not produce a voltage higher than this.

Class 0 - Relying only on basic insulation as a safety precaution. Most explosion-proof luminaires are Class Ⅰ, with only a few being Class Ⅱ and Ⅲ. For example: all-plastic explosion-proof lights, explosion-proof flashlights.

  4. Classified by enclosure protection rating: To prevent dust, solid foreign objects, and water from entering the lamp cavity and contacting or accumulating on live parts, causing flashover, short circuits, or damage to electrical insulation, there are various enclosure protection methods to protect electrical insulation. The enclosure protection rating is indicated by the characteristic letters "IP" followed by two numbers. One number indicates protection against persons, solid foreign objects, or dust. It is divided into levels 0-6. Explosion-proof lamps are sealed lamps, and their dust-proof capability is at least level 4. The second number indicates waterproof capability, divided into levels 0-8.

  5. Classified by the supporting surface material of the LED explosion-proof light design: Indoor explosion-proof lights may be installed on the surfaces of many common flammable materials, such as wooden walls and ceilings, where the surface temperature of the explosion-proof light is not allowed to exceed the safety value.

According to whether the explosion-proof light can be directly installed on the surface of ordinary combustible materials, it can be divided into two categories: one is suitable for installation only on non-combustible surfaces. The other is suitable for direct installation on the surface of ordinary combustible materials, with a marked symbol.

  6. According to the installation and use form, they can be divided into fixed type, mobile type, and portable type.

LED explosion-proof lights are a type of explosion-proof light. Their principle is the same as that of explosion-proof lights, except that the light source is an LED light source. Because LEDs are solid-state cold light sources, they have the characteristics of high electro-optical conversion efficiency, low heat generation, low power consumption, and safe operating voltage. Low voltage, long service life, etc., low energy consumption; therefore, high-power white light LEDs are ideal electro-optical sources for explosion-proof lights, especially portable explosion-proof lights.

LED explosion-proof lights, patented regional road sealing technology; more in line with national explosion-proof new technology. It belongs to a type of electrical equipment used in special industries, mainly to solve lighting problems.
