The fluorescent material on the inner wall of the lamp tube absorbs ultraviolet light and emits visible light, thus illuminating the fluorescent lamp. With the advancement of science and technology, scientists have modified the two core components of mining support lamps. This improved version is called an energy-saving lamp. It consumes 1/5 of the energy. But its lifespan is 10 times that of an ordinary incandescent lamp.

Due to the complex structure of mining support lamps, the condition of any component in its core components will affect the lighting of the entire lamp. The lifespan of these electronic components is closely related to the start-up time. Experiments show that turning it on and off every 5 minutes will quickly reduce the lifespan from the normal 10000 hours to about 1000 hours. That is to say, every time a lamp is turned on, its lifespan will be shortened by about 1 hour. It consumes less power itself, and turning off the light for a short time will not save much. Frequent switching will greatly shorten the lifespan. Considering the high price and the energy consumption in the production of energy-saving lamps, frequent switching is not recommended.
