What principles should be followed during urban lighting?

Now, cities light up with various lights at night. These lights not only beautify the environment but also promote nighttime consumption, commercial development, and extend people's activity time and range. As urban lighting projects receive more attention and support, we must also strictly adhere to the principles of urban lighting.
In urban lighting construction, a comprehensive "urban lighting project" planning scheme should be developed, designing ecological and environmentally friendly night scene lighting. Relevant departments such as urban construction and environmental protection should establish corresponding systems and formulate monitoring and management methods, ensuring that the review, identification, and acceptance of urban lighting projects are carried out effectively.
Urban lighting should fully reflect the characteristics of "people-oriented, economical and practical, low-carbon living, and environmental protection," focusing on beautifying the city and highlighting nature. Green lighting should be vigorously promoted, especially in government departments and public places, which should use certified energy-saving lamps as much as possible.
Strictly follow the requirements set by national authorities for urban lighting, limiting decorative landscape lighting to make urban lighting projects luxurious but not extravagant. Further standardize commercial behavior, scientifically manage and reasonably plan grocery stalls, neon lights, and billboards, and control light pollution from vehicles.
Colorful lights create an atmosphere during holidays, so lighting is naturally necessary. However, during regular times, lighting should be moderate. Except for major holidays, reduce the number of lights used while meeting lighting requirements, and prohibit high-energy-consuming lamps. During the construction of urban lighting projects, emphasis should be placed on promoting greening, purifying, and beautifying. In entertainment venues and around buildings, more grass, flowers, trees, and water surfaces should be added to improve the light environment.
