The development of LED lighting technology has reached a point where the overall performance of LED light modules is quite stable. The key factor that directly affects the lifespan of lighting is the reliability of the LED driver. Data shows that over 70% of failures in LED outdoor lighting are caused by LED lamp failures or instability. So how should gas stations choose LED lamps? Here is an introduction.
Lightning protection capability. It is well known that outdoor lightning strikes pose a significant threat to LED lamps. There are several types of lightning, including direct strikes, conducted lightning, and induced lightning, with induced lightning being the most common and causing the most damage to LED lamps, often generating voltages of 4KV or even higher. Good LED lamps should have strong lightning protection capabilities and adhere to relevant design standards.
High temperature and low temperature resistance. In some regions, external temperatures can reach as high as 50°C, while at their lowest, they can drop to minus 30°C. This requires LED lamps to have a wide range of operating temperature capabilities.
Waterproof capability. Although there is only a slight difference in wording between rainproof and waterproof LED lamps, the protective capabilities are significantly different. Rainproof lamps only require a protection level of IP65, while waterproof lamps require a protection level of IP67, meaning that even if the LED lamp is submerged in water, it can be used safely, avoiding the effects of moisture, salt spray, and other factors on the internal PCB circuits and components of the LED lamp.
