The corridor lamp tube is a type of LED lighting fixture that can replace T5 fluorescent tubes. It is very energy-efficient and has high brightness, making it widely used in many industries. However, when the corridor lamp tube fails, it is difficult to replace the T5 fluorescent tube because the corridor lamp tube is very thin. So, is there any way to easily replace the T5 fluorescent tube?
Four methods to replace T5 fluorescent tubes with corridor lamp tubes
First: Split-type corridor lamp tube, also known as single-tube corridor lamp tube, for example, 1.2 meters long, actual length is 1149mm, 1.5 meters actual length is 1449mm, 0.6 meters actual length is 549mm, end cap is G5.3, and it is divided into two types. One has an external power supply, and the tube itself is polarized. If additional components are added, it can also be made non-polarized, with the power supply placed inside the bracket, which needs to be modified. The other has an internal power supply, designed with the power supply on the aluminum substrate, characterized by narrow voltage, generally between 200-230V, which can meet the requirements.
Second: Integrated T5 LED tube, which combines the tube and bracket into one. During installation, you only need to secure the metal clips. The advantage is that it saves the tube bracket, and the power supply can be internal, making installation extremely simple and flexible. It is generally considered for new installations.
Third: T8 to T5 LED fluorescent tube, simply put, T8 body with T5 end cap, and the power supply can also be internal. The advantage is that the aluminum material is larger, providing better heat dissipation and a wider light emission angle, with the power supply internal. This allows for direct replacement of T5 fluorescent tubes.
Fourth: External power supply type, which can directly use a 16mm diameter T5 aluminum-plastic tube, connected directly to an external power supply to drive the LED tube to work and emit light. Note that this type of tube has polarity; if the tube does not light up, simply swap the ends of the tube to change the polarity, and the tube will light up.
Three methods to replace T5 fluorescent tubes with corridor lamp tubes should be based on actual conditions. Generally, using split-type or T8 to corridor lamp tubes is better for replacement. For new installations, integrated T5 LED fluorescent tubes are generally used, as this installation method is flexible, allowing for surface or hanging installation, and is also cost-effective.
Advantages and disadvantages of corridor lamp tubes
First, T5 LED fluorescent tubes do not use mercury and do not contain lead. Traditional fluorescent tubes contain a large amount of mercury vapor, which can evaporate into the atmosphere when broken, polluting the environment. LED fluorescent tubes can protect the environment well and are recognized as one of the green light sources.
Second, T5 LED fluorescent tubes are cold light sources and do not emit a lot of heat energy like traditional fixtures. They can convert almost all electrical energy into light energy, avoiding energy waste and being very economical.
Third, T5 LED fluorescent tubes are very quiet energy-saving lamps, unlike traditional fluorescent tubes that produce noise, making them very suitable for quiet environments such as libraries and offices. They also protect the eyes well, start very quickly, and do not flicker, which is beneficial to our health.
Additionally, because T5 LED fluorescent tubes are green and environmentally friendly, they do not produce ultraviolet or infrared radiation, do not contain harmful substances like mercury, and generate less heat, effectively avoiding the situation of mosquitoes gathering around the light source, thus creating a cleaner indoor environment.
Finally, T5 LED fluorescent tubes have a long lifespan, consuming less electricity than traditional fluorescent tubes while maintaining the same brightness. Generally, the normal lifespan is over 30,000 hours, and long-term use does not require replacement, which invisibly reduces labor costs, making them suitable for situations where changing fixtures is inconvenient. Of course, LED fluorescent tubes come in a variety of colors, allowing for the creation of various light colors to meet the needs of different occasions.
