Installation methods and precautions for LED alley lights

With increasing demands for lighting, a new type of lighting called LED lights has become popular. LEDs, or light-emitting diodes, are highly efficient light sources with long lifespans. Combined with different reflectors, they can achieve versatile lighting and, after softening treatment, do not cause glare or other discomfort. Therefore, many public areas use these lights, such as LED alley lights because many people come and go on the roads, soft, eye-friendly lights are needed. So what are the characteristics of LED street lights? Are you familiar with their installation methods and precautions? Let's find out together.

  Features of LED Alley Lights:

  1. High color purity; current LED products cover almost the entire visible light spectrum and have high color purity.

  2. Ultra-long lifespan. The actual lifespan of LEDs exceeds 50,000 hours, several times or even dozens of times that of ordinary light sources.

  3. The light source does not contain mercury, and the light beam does not contain ultraviolet rays.

  4. It is solid-state lighting, with good shock resistance and reliability.

  5. It also features energy saving, economy, and maintenance-free.

  6. LEDs have strong directivity, high luminous flux utilization, small size, and are easy to control the appearance design and light intensity distribution of LED luminaires.

  7. LED alley lights can use DC low-voltage power supply, which is safe and reliable.

  8. LEDs are not limited by starting temperature, can be transiently started (generally a few ms), and can transiently reach full luminous flux output.

Installation Methods and Precautions for LED Alley Lights:

  I. Installation Methods:

  1. First, determine the installation location and method of the luminaire based on the actual needs of the work site, and then prepare a three-core cable of Φ8~Φ14 mm with the appropriate length according to the distance from the luminaire to the power connection point.

  2. Open the fastening screws on the side of the luminaire cover, then loosen the clamping nut at the cable inlet of the luminaire, open the cover, pass the power cable through the clamping nut into the internal terminal, connect and fix it according to the diagram, and then tighten the cable clamping nut and the luminaire cover.

  3. LED alley lights are maintenance-free. If the luminaire itself does not light up, generally communicate with the manufacturer for direct replacement or return for repair.

  II. Precautions:

  1. The power must be cut off before disassembling the luminaire.

  2. Do not open while energized.

  3. During use, the surface of the luminaire will have a certain temperature rise, which is a normal phenomenon; the center temperature of the transparent parts is higher and should not be touched.

  4. When installing the luminaire, it should be grounded nearby.

The above are the characteristics of LED alley lights, as well as their installation methods and precautions. Relevant personnel must pay attention to the problems during installation to ensure their personal safety.
