What are the design factors for LED alley lights?

Alleyway lights It is carefully designed and manufactured using advanced LED lighting technology. It is mainly used for fixed lighting in alleys, caverns, substations, pump rooms, underground parking lots, etc. So, what are the design factors of LED alleyway lights? Let's find out together.

  1. Use a DC regulated power supply system

Some manufacturers choose the "resistor-capacitor voltage reduction" method to power LED products to reduce production costs, which will directly affect the service life of LED products. Using a dedicated switching power supply circuit to power LED products will not affect the service life of the products, but the production cost is also higher.

  2. Anti-static measures must be implemented

LED alleyway light products must adopt certain anti-static measures during production, such as grounding the operating table, workers wearing anti-static clothing, anti-static rings and anti-static gloves, and if necessary, assembling anti-static ion fans. At the same time, the humidity of the workshop environment should be kept around 65% to avoid the release of static electricity due to excessively dry indoor air. White LEDs are particularly susceptible to damage from electrostatic induction.

Many electrostatic induction problems are caused by the lack of ESD (electrostatic discharge) awareness. This is mainly because most ESD hazards occur outside of human perception, as the human body's perception voltage for electrostatic discharge is approximately 3KV, while many electronic components will be damaged at several hundred volts or even tens of volts. Generally, after electronic components are damaged by ESD, there are no obvious signs. Installing the components on the PCB and then testing them will reveal many problems, and analysis is also very difficult.

  3. Temperature of LED alleyway lights

It should be noted that temperature rise will reduce the internal resistance of the LED. When the ambient temperature rises, the internal resistance of the LED light source will decrease. If an adjustable regulated power supply system is used, the LED operating current will increase. When it exceeds the rated operating current, it will affect the service life of the LED alleyway light, and in severe cases, it will cause the LED light source to "burn out." Therefore, a DC power supply is used to ensure that the LED operating current is not affected by the ambient temperature.

  4. Sealing of LED alleyway lights

Regardless of the type of LED alleyway light, as long as it is used outdoors, it faces the sealing problem of moisture and water resistance. If not handled properly, it may affect the service life of LED products. Currently, a small number of manufacturers with high product quality requirements use the traditional epoxy resin "灌溉" method to seal LED products. This method is very troublesome to use, and for LED products with larger volumes, it will also increase the weight of the product.

  5. The current of the LED alleyway light must not exceed the IF current of the LED

Overcurrent operation will rapidly reduce the service life of the LED. If exceeded, the LED will be immediately burned out.

  6. Attention should be paid to the bending of LED alleyway lights

When bending or folding LEDs, keep them at least 2mm away from the colloidal solution, otherwise, the support frame and lines in the LED colloidal solution will separate. The bending frequency at the same location should not exceed three times. Bending to 90 degrees and returning to the original position counts as one time.

  7. Soldering temperature

The soldering temperature is around 260℃, and the time is controlled within 5 seconds. The solder joint is about 2.5mm away from the bottom of the colloidal solution. The soldering iron must be grounded, and live welding of LEDs is absolutely prohibited.
